Tradition in Performance since 1948
The biggest higher education institution in the South-East of Romania. The University was awarded with the appellation “HIGH DEGREE OF CONFIDENCE” by the Romanian Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education in 2008, 2013 and 2018.
University for the community
In its 70 years of existence, the higher education in Galati has trained over 60.000 graduates in the fields of engineering, human, economic sciences, medicine, arts and sports. A modern university, which combines the highest standards of education and research with the demands and needs of students and the local community.

Student activities
The Student’s Cultural Centre promotes and organizes specific cultural and artistic activities: recreational-entertaining, educational and sporting. It also organizes artistic workshops, dinners, theoretical and practical courses and last but not least, ensures the activity of the student artistic formations.
University campus
The university has 11 dormitories, 4 restaurant canteens, 1 student chapel, 2 gyms, a student medical office, spread over three university campuses: “A.I.Cuza”, “22 Decembrie” and “Științei” Campus. The accommodation capacity in the student dormitories exceeds 3,000 places.
Galati, city of the Danube
It is one of the largest economic centers in Romania, respectively Moldova, with a population of approx. 290,000 inhabitants being the 7th city in the country. The city of Galati has a long history and also due to the fact that it is placed by the Danube, the most important commercial-fluvial artery in Europe, the Danube-Main-Rhine Canal.
